Never more than five. That is a hard limit, not a target. Five is small enough that every pupil gets asked questions and nobody can sit quietly at the back not understanding, but large enough that pupils learn from each other's questions.

She sees how marks are actually awarded, at scale, every year. Pupils often understand the chemistry perfectly well and still lose marks on phrasing, on missing a command word, or on answering a slightly different question from the one asked. Knowing where those marks go is very hard to get from a textbook.

Class times are published on the timetable. Groups typically run weekly during term time, with additional revision sessions closer to the exams.
Usually not, but be honest with Lynsey about where things stand. She has taught long enough to tell you frankly whether a class will help, what is realistic in the time available, and whether a different level would be a better fit.
It is possible and pupils do it every year, but it is a demanding route because Higher assumes N5 knowledge from the first week. It is much more manageable with support. Mention it in your enquiry so the right group can be recommended.
